The Winter Solstice

December 27, 2005 at 4:29:21 a.m.

Today is Winter Solstice. In all the mystical schools on this planet, this marks the most important day of the year—the birthday of the planet Earth. It is the closing of the current cycle and the beginning of the new. From its inception, it has always been celebrated with the highest forms of recognition and in the most glorious raiment’s imaginable. As you might assume, it was the precursor to what the Christian religion adapted as Christ-mass.

Putting yourself into the flow of earth’s harmony today can be an important exercise that will assist you throughout the next twelve months. If you have ever attended one of our Solstice ceremonies, then try to re-enact what you remember from it. If not, then take time today to do the following:

Remove yourself completely from the world, its noise and demands.

Sit quietly and let your physical senses flow outward until you feel calm and empty.

Think of Earth by thinking of Nature. Feel yourself in attachment to Nature, to its vegetation, animals, the flow of its waters and the strength of its rocks and mountains.

Release everyone who has come into your life this year so that they are free to move in whatever direction they so choose.

And then, one by one, reintroduce your senses. First touch, then smell, then taste, then hearing and lastly sight. At this point light a single candle and let its radiance bathe across your face.

Lastly, remind yourself that you are an important member of the Universal family. Your position here is exactly what it is supposed to be and your role is as important and singularly needed as that of any element of the Universal Whole.

Have a warm, loving and fulfilling Solstice and the most enjoyable and exciting experiences possible in the months ahead. Cheers! May your glass always be full!….GT
